I think it's absolutely unsanitary and disgusting. Besides the fact that the dumpster divers are the MOST defensive youtubers ever, they also do not sanitize things properly. Listen: There is no way to properly sanitize a lipstick or a lipstick palette. There is no way to sanitized a liquid or stick foundation. It's next to impossible to sanitize liquid or cream products. Cutting or pouring some off the top isn't going to clean that, and microwaving it is not going to do that. If you want to sanitize something you usually have to boil it in water that is already boiling for 1-20 minutes. Microwaving it is going going to melt it and mess with the formula these teenagers are going to get themselves so sick. I couldn't really watch more about it but I honestly wonder how many rashes and eye infections these people get. I know a girl who worked at ulta and when they destroy thing they not only scratch them up but sometimes would dump expired hair products and spray cleaning products on it.

We can make a separate post about the wastefulness of returned makeup, but I see makeup dumpster divers the same way I see people who have access to showers and consistently fail to use them. It's disgusting. Also: It is complacently different that needy people dumpster diving for food. No one needs makeup.
