What is your worst hotel experience? NSFW

So okay one time in London I got caught out booking a hotel and had to settle for cheap. I booked an en-suite room just for a little extra privacy. The reviews mostly said things like 'okay for a few nights' and 'basic but clean' so I wasn't too afraid.

I get there and its a converted old Victorian villa with NARROW stairs, no lift and about 7 stories up to my room. When I eventually haul my suitcase up these stairs I find that my 'ensuite room' is literally a shower cubicle plumbed into the corner of my room, no tiling, no toilet, no sink just a freaking shower cubicle plonked onto the carpet.

I make the best of it and settle down to try and sleep. The next day when I go to have a shower the water pressure was so low it would have struggled to break tissue paper and it was also cold. I gave up that morning but on my way down I told reception the shower was broken.

That night I came back and they told me it had been fixed. I was tired and cold so decided to shower the next morning. I got up and found that yet again the mighty tissue paper shield had saved me in battle and the water was again freezing. This time I went downstairs and asked someone to come and look at it. They at first tried to ignore me but when I wouldn't go away a woman literally sprinted up the stairs ahead of me after the hotel concierge had dismissively told me that I didn't understand how to work a shower. By the time I had made it back up to my room she'd already left and met me on the way down to agree that yes my shower was broken.

I eventually got my room moved to a basement room with one grubby window and a shower that was lukewarm but actually had water pressure. I survived the rest of the stay by using my friends shower at her 4* room.

TL:DR: Ensuite room was literally a shower cubicle in the corner of my room. It was also broken and cold and hotel staff were rude when I asked them to fix it.
