What's the best story you have of vigilantism or defending someone vulnerable? [SERIOUS]

To get this thread started...

This happened to me and a stranger about 3 or 4 years ago. I was starting a night out, just got out of the cab in the city, with the intention of meeting some friends at the bar across the road (because screw paying the taxi to loop around!). So I get out of the cab, he drives off, and it's pretty much empty - no cars or people around - except for this big biker guy walking with a smaller Asian guy. I was about to cross the street before taking another glance and noticed the smaller guy was actually walking ahead of the biker guy. This guy looked intimidating - big burly beard, leather jacket, stereotypical sort of biker. I was already a bit intoxicated and was early to meet my friends so I decided to follow the two, pretty far behind, but trying to close the distance. I open up my phone and pretend to text, but really I'm preparing to call the police. As I get closer I can hear the biker guy is shouting at the smaller Asian guy, it sounds like he's trying to suggest the Asian guy was checking out his girlfriend or something. I'm within about 2 or 3 meters when the biker seems to just lose it for no apparent reason, and shoves the Asian guy against the wall. I definitely am not well-built, more on the scrawny side, and definitely not a confident sort of person, but somehow I manage to bellow out a deep "What the fuck are you doing?" to the biker. He, thinking he was alone, is started and instantly backs off from the Asian guy, and turns to me. He suddenly goes into victim mode and starts justifying that the Asian guy was looking at his girlfriend wrong and needed to be "taught a lesson". I told him to leave him alone or I'd call the cops, he gives the guy one more shove and walks towards me - for a tense few moments I thought he was going to hit me, but he walks past me and back into the bar he came from.

So that's my story. The Asian guy came up to me and thanked me profusely and started crying and explaining it was his fourth day on vacation and going into how he had experienced all these shitty things in those four days.

I invited him to drink with my friends, and we all got along really well and got really drunk.

I ended up getting his number and showing him around the city for the next few days he was here and he had a great time.

We're still in touch, planning to go visit him sometime this year!

So that's my story.
