What's the deal with zombie deer disease?

It really lends to a perspective of examining what it really means to be alive. At least it did for me.

That woman wasnt dying. It was worse than that, she was being systematically erased from her own mind until only the animal bits were left and eventually the disease took that too. Seeing it happen myself I could see what made ideas like the werewolf so terrifying. I honestly cant imagine waking up every day knowing a bit of yourself is being erased and this thing, this shelled out husk of a body will continue moving and interacting with people you loved. It doesn't recognize them, it doesn't know their names but when they look at it they still have to see the thing that was once you staring back.
