What's the scariest/craziest driving experience you've had so far?

When I was 20 my dad bought a '84 944na. It wasn't the fastest car by a long shot but it was super fun to drive as anyone who's driven one probably knows. I think he got it to relive his youth or something, but thats another story... Anyways we spent a few weeks sorting through it and driving it here and there. I was a novice with a manual, but i did fine with running errands and cruising around town. So after after I got more comfortable with it, my dad let me take it out for a drive. He drove in front and I followed in the 944. We were driving spirited on country roads when I decided it would be a swell idea to downshift from 5th in the middle of a curve at about 65mph to pass a pickup truck. Of course I knew nothing about matching engine speed, so before the clutch was all the way out I was backwards. From there I jammed the clutch and the brake and prayed to jesus that the car would be okay. The car ended up skidding through the left lane and into the ditch on the side of the road. Thankfully the ditch wasn't too steep and the soft earth stopped the car quickly. The car turned out to be just fine (apart from needing a wash) and we drove home. Turns out 944's are surprisingly decent at off roading. We still drive the car often, but my dad won't live that down!
