What's way more addictive than people think?

I can see that, but I've always associated that ego issue more to work than personal appearance. I'm 27 btw and maybe my view is from lack of field experience and I want to pick your brain some. I wear a grey button shirt (long sleeve and usually rolled down), short hair, black glasses, black slim jeans, and black dress boots with slight variations. Always cleaned and tidy. I'm a minimalist with as few objects around me as possible as I sit at my desk and do my work professionally and quietly. I am proficient in hand sketching, solidworks, keyshot, 3Dprinting, prototype painting, mechanical design, metal fabrication, woodworking and finishing, etc. I'd be excluded because of a tattoo? I don't do graphic design but just as an example. I'm trying to picture your ideal presentable person. I'm not trying to be argumentative at all (neutral tone). Can you clarify more on high design or examples? I kind of like this discussion and I'm not opposed to having my view changed!

I hear you there. I'm not crying as I make good money for my time in the industry and haven't seen any issues with it personally. I think having tattoos means I don't get to complain about having tattoos. I think there is more of a place for them in the workplace that could still be professional is all. I don't personally want to come across as arrogant or self centered but rather open to learning some more.
