Which guest writers would you like to see in future?

I'd like to see Atwood as an X-Files writer, and Cronenberg, Tsukamoto, Jonze, Gondry, Carruth, and Apichatpong as X-Files directors.

Very specifically, I would like to see Grimes guest starring in an X-Files episode written by Margaret Atwood and directed by Shinya Tsukamoto. And it needs to be filmed in a FOGGY ENVIRONMENT NEAR VANCOUVER. Not sunny!!

Also, I think Vince Gilligan should write an episode and Scarlett Johansson should star in it and Chris Cunningham should direct it.

Like, Mulder and Scully should appear too okay! They need good stuff to work with. But this is my dream of The X-Files, becoming the art horror (sometimes comedy) cinematic masterpiece it always secretly wanted to be, and if they make sure to bring back Darin Morgan on occasion (Gondry and Jonze need to direct DM's work!!) and if they decide to go this way (maybe moving it over to a cable event or streaming) I swear this will be able to go on for years and it will become EVEN more legendary, and truly be seen as the greatest TV show ever and no one can ever dispute that legacy again. Even David Lynch will be in awe of their achievement. (And he also needs to cast Grimes in Twin Peaks as Coop and Annie's daughter. Too late probably...)

Carter- THIS IS WITHIN REACH. You can do it. I know the salary issue may be tricky if you want to get established movie people. Even the Wire at its height only managed less famous (not necessarily less talented) folks like Holland and Dickerson. But you can start out by going for untested indie talents, then move up. So many of the younger filmmakers populating the festival or online circuit may have grown up on XF and would much rather get a Hollywood resume (and first decent payday- but it could be a LOW one by Fox standards) by their work as a writer/director on a new Mulder/Scully episode rather than some shitty franchise wbere they have no real say anyway. Season 11: Take risks, hire the most promising of these people, give them lots of freedom, and be sure to have an episode by the old guys as a backup. Season 12: having proven yourself, you can now select from the cream of the crop of genre and "serious" filmmakers to work on XF. every director will be itching to do an XF episode in THEIR way. that will be the show's signature- the ANTI-BORING ALL SERIALIZED UNCINEMATIC SHOW, the show where every week is a radically different vision (but character continuity is maintained by occasional Carter suggestions re: Mulder and Scully, otherwise leaving each writer/director vision intact).
