X-Files: Every Darin Morgan Episode Ranked From Worst to Best

For me, "Clyde Bruckman's" the best; you get a sad, sympathetically done character sketch, it works well as a MOTW, and the humor's a bit more naturalistic than is usual for Darin.

I'd put "Humbug" in a very close second. Again, it's one of the show's most sympathetic look at "freaks, "mutants" and "outcasts". It's nod to traveling roadshows and circuses is great, and a setting you'd have expected "The X-Files" to have visited again.

His others are very post-modern, very high-concept, very "meta". As a result, they don't quite have the emotional power for me as "Clyde" and "Humbug". They're all excellent, sometimes tragic, but tend to work more as clever games.
