WIBTA by wearing a saree to att mr my daughters wedding?

NTA... But I think your daughter is the AH.

I'll get flamed for this but here is why I think this.

1.) You adopted her and you as the parent had every right to decide how she grew up including being part of your culture. I find the fact that she went NC with you incredible disrespectful especially after you gave her a great life. It's great that she wanted to learn about her heritage but that's not something she should have held against you.

2.) I have many friends who are from India, Pakistan, Iran, UAE... Etc. They all love when I wear traditional clothing for their culture. Your daughter telling you not to wear it is just ridiculous. It may be her wedding but it's pretty crappy to tell one group to wear one thing but not another.

If the only thing you did that you believe makes you a bad parent is not teaching your child about a culture that you weren't part of then you did fine.
