Game is 99% awesome but there is one small detail that can throw everything out of the window....

!>First I am going to express how Takahashi and his team did a great job with this game. It is very clear that they listened to the fan''s feedback and did everything they could with Xenoblade 3 to be the best one in the series :

Excessive anime fanservice? -> well no more

Disliked the gatcha system to get the rare blades you want? -> well no more, you recruit characters now

Annoyed with just 1 save slot ? -> well no more, we are back to XC1 save system now

Annoyed with the boring excessive side quests ? -> well they still kind of exist but in far less numbers compared to previous games

Annoyed with Rex design and want a more cool and traditional protagonist? -> well here is Noah

On top of that the story is top niche and in a lot of ways very similar to the Xenogears story. They even managed to create a pure romance between Noah and Mio very similar to what they did with Fei and Elly in xenogears. 99% of this game is awesome, but then.... why did they include that 5 seconds moment in the ending where it is shown the photograph of the characters in XC2? At the same time we have a pure love story between Noah and Mio but we also have a harem between Rex and 3 girls. That is so out of place and laughable that it is hard to take the story seriously after that.

And I have seen so many people defending that as like: "well Rex got his good ending", "well there are people that are happily married with more than one partner!", "well XC2 is the weird one anyway, so let Rex have this" and honestly nothing justify that. I know a lot of people that like Xenoblade are harem fans and like this kind of stuff, but there is a difference between "vague" harem and this. "Vague" harem let player imagine what they want, this one on the other hand pushed harem ending as if Rex actually impregnated 3 girls and they are happy to share. It is a laughable concept, that makes this amazing story feel stupid. Let me make myself clear that I dislike "vague" endings, I prefer a definitive couple like in XC1. I preferred Melia over Fiora any day, but at the end Melia got friendzoned and Fiora was the girl Shulk picked, and I accept that. No vagueness here, a decisive decision for a love story.

So we have ShulkxFiora, NoahxMio and Rex and his...harem. Even if you are a harem fan this is so out of place that makes the entire series look like a joke. Takahashi and his team managed to create such a good game and respected all fans's feedback from past, especially Xenoblade 2 and yet they pushed this 5s moment that not only doesn't do anything for the main story, but can also destroy the image you created for the entire thing.

To me personally Monolith should get rid of this photograph ASAP. Or at least remove the babies and make it vague. I don't like vagueness at all but at least it is not a joke like harem. And then write a public apologize for this. The damage is already done, there is no turning back, but at least he can medicate the damage by proving again that they are willing to change.

Please Nintendo and Monolith make Xenoblade 3 Great again. Don't turn this amazing story you created into a joke.!<
