I could give a fuck if someone takes pictures of me. I don't want to get jacked up in a bar or in the alley next to a bar, or hit with an unexpected multi-thousand dollar bill because some girl sat next to me for a few minutes and ordered a drink. I want to be able to go to a local restaurant or night market and not be hassled.

it's not like I go traipsing around with an entourage. In some countries there's kidnapping potential but in most there is not or it's easy to steer away from problematic areas. I'll be by myself or with my interpreter. If I'm going to a bar or a club or really slumming I'll ask my Interpreter to find me a wing man who can drive and look a little intimidating if required.

I don't stay at resorts but rather hotels or apartments in interesting neighborhoods. When I travel for business I'm an independent contractor to US companies so I don't have a lot of corporate infrastructure to provide these sorts of services.

With respect to gyms- I want to lift real weights that require actual spotters sometimes. Hotel gyms suck, most of the time, and gyms with dudes ( and rarely, women) who seriously lift can be really insular. Such gyms are rarely in city squares but rather show up in office parks or outer ring neighborhoods.
