The 23 Minutes That Shook The Hockey World | Elliotte Friedman

Because it must be so difficult. No matter what the reason was, P.K. Subban is an awesome player and surely a fan favourite. Bergevin made a call to swap him out to find a defenseman that fits better with what they are envisioning for the habs.

It's difficult because this is a player who did so much for the team and I am sure in one way or another they make all kinds of connections with each other. It's hard to lose a player that has been so iconic in the Habs franchise. What is even more difficult is how much P.K. Subban has loved the city of Montreal. This also puts him in such high regards with the fans.

So in retrospect, it's a very difficult decision to make and sometimes making a decision like that might just be too tough to talk about. He was a great player, a fan favourite and an icon in the franchise, someone who had also been on the team for a while and must have made all kinds of friendships/connections. But then sometimes, general managers have to take a difficult stance and make decisions for their team. Whether that decisions turns out correct or incorrect is a completely different aspect to discuss. However, as far as not wanting to talk about it, I can only imagine that it could have just been overwhelming.
