The part many fail to note is that the world economy is based on the idea that the US is a 100% safe and stable investment as the world's reserve currency. If we end up with a government that the rest of the world considers illegitimate, or experience widespread violence that looks to threaten our existence as a country, like say, a mob executing members of congress on national TV, we are talking about trillions in wealth vanishing overnight. There are very good reasons why everyone, including people at Fox and other right wingers were calling anyone they could reach at the white house to try and get trump to do something to stop the mob.
