I understand why you feel like this. We used gofundme for the 4v4 cup, as it worked well to raise money quickly ( an seeing it where it came from was a neat feature) Their were several problems i came across tho. First was the 15% fee they take. not too bad but still annoying. Secondly, since iam from canada donations would be in CDN. Thirdly it takes up to 21 busniess days after withdrawl to get the money into my bank account an another 8 days to go from my bank to paypal. This was the major issiue that we came across the last cup. Since i didnt want the winning players to have to wait almost a month for their money, i had to front the money out of my pocket. wc3 prize monies has a stigma from the past, where some organizers dont pay prizepool or screwed players some way. At least this way the money is there upfront an no waiting. In 2016 alone ive put over $2500 of money into prizepools for events. An always pay players prizes as soon as the games are done. Id like to think ive earned the communitys trust by now. Another thing with gofundme is it requires pretty sensitve information. EI banking info, SOCIAL Secruity Numbers etc. Information that can be used maliciously. Sadly thier are some ppl in this community that have tried to access my paypal an emails constantly (ive learned how to detect real paypal an fake paypal emails).Almost everyday I delete fake paypal emails requesting for me to redirect to some other site. So frankly at this point iam trying to keep my self safe :)
