Looking to move to Hollywood in the next month or two with two cars - wondering about paid lots.

If you have all three required documents, you can walk into West Hollywood City Hall and get a permit in about 20 mins at the walk-up window. Don't try to bullshit them it won't work. They are super nice, but they don't 'flex' on things. Protip: I would strongly recommend getting one for each car you have registered to your residence because the price of a permit for the year is less than one parking ticket. And you're gonna have situations where you need both cars on the street for some reason. Also, if you have one car in the building and one on the street, you can 'beat the system' if you have a guest, and give them one of your permit placards to use. Just don't forget to hang it on the mirror or else I promise you, your car WILL be towed within ten seconds of the permit requirement time being up. Then you get the lovely trip down to the tow lot and the lovely $400.00 cost to retrieve it (some for the ticket, and some for the privilege of talking with the nice parking enforcement folks at the tow lot). And also know that the resi permits don't exempt you from street cleaning. And "it was on the seat instead of the mirror" also doesn't cut it for tickets or towing. West Hollywood is thick with the parking rules and enforcement. Source: Lived on Sweetzer and Sunset with two cars and one paid space for two years.
