I hear you mate. 16th year an opiate addict. This year I decided to tackle that and now I'm 7 months into treatment/maintenance with subutex. I haven't abused any opiates since I started on that. There's absolutely no buzz, no dulling of emotions or high on that. I also more than halved my drinking down to just a couple of beers every other day now. It's taken a lot of willpower to face the world without blunt emotions but I've actually started to feel better lately which has been a huge buzz all of its own so I'm able to stick with the program. I'm also on a long slow taper from the subs so I can hopefully be free of that one day too.

You keep trying and fighting it my friend. One day we'll get there. All the best to you.
