This is so not the discussion I thought people would be having when the game came out lol
TLOU I (excluding the DLC) was about love between a father and his daughter. Fast Forward to part II and the conversation has derailed to gender politics.
Naughty Dog fucked up big time. Most people accept in the 21st century that LGBTQ people exist and are OK with it. People didn't love Part I because ellie was (forcefully) revealed to be gay. People loved it because of the father-daughter bond that develops in the course of the game.
Naughty Dog didn't need to shove a contrived plot down our throats and start a forced discussion that's likely going to contribute nothing positive in the lives of LGBTQ people. Ironically, if anything they'd be rather hated (within a player's head at least) for killing the main characters.
I can't fucking believe that ND had the extremely rare previliege of getting
Full hands-off support from Sony and complete creative freedom
Hundreds of millions of dollars
HUGE fanbase that was going to buy the game the moment you announced it
and they decide to make an awkward game about this shit. What a gigantic anticlimax.
As much as I wanted this game to be a masterpiece 10/10, i just don't see that happening from the leaks. Sorry to say that I want it to tank...maybe get a 6/10 only to teach ND and game industry a lesson.
