My parents were truly sadistic when it came to Easter basket hunting. It got so bad it took the fun out of it. Some highlights- in the heating ducts (old house with the ducts in the floor) wrapped in a trash bag put at the bottom of the trash can with a new bag on top and trash in the new bag, inside the vacuum cleaner, basket hid separately from the candy that was dumped in a hanging planter, taped underneath the table, in a empty food bag in the freezer, and many others while they watched. After an hour they would give us hints. Christmas was worse they would wrap all the presents in the same paper and number them 1-20 or however many there were and would have a list for who had what number. One year they lost the list and we had to just unwrap and they would say oh that’s your brothers etc.
