Advice for a noob investing into a west texas gas lease?

Man it's starting to really feel like the boom is back. investors saying "IT'S ALMOST MAKING TOO MUCH MONEY!!!!"

I'm going to guess it plays out like this:

You buy-in. Make crazy money right out of the gates, but the decline happens FAST.. 75% in just a year. But you made so much money.. Already got your raptor and still plenty to spare.

You'll get the idea that hmm we should just pop a couple new holes and make all that money again!!!

Brilliant your friends will say.

You'll finish the first well, half way into the 2nd and BAM.. OPEC stops being friendly and oil crashes to 18$. Companies start giving their nat gas away to make up for the oil decline and back to reality comes gas prices.

You lose everything.. it's devastating. They even repo your Raptor.

Hopefully you don't skip the step where you set up 7 LLCS and use the banks money to make your investment.. Then you can just do like everyone else does and abandon the wells to spew methane and let the bank repo all assets.

Walk away squeaky clean with a raptor!
