After planning for the better part of a year and searching for the perfect location, I think we finally found it.

i run a shop, not vaping, something else, buts its the same deal ... here is my advice

pricing things right is really difficult, you can charge 2 people the same price and have 1 say "wow that is so cheap", and another later in the day will say "why so expensive"?!

you cant rip people off, but ime, most people dont shop based upon price as their number 1 priority, most prefer friendly customer service over the absolute cheapest price available.

so my advice would be to have some bargains, but to price most things realistically, and dont aim for bargain-basement prices across the board, because tightfisted customers arent the ones you want anyway. being in the middle is best, because even if you lose the cheap customers, you make up the difference and do less work. dont aim for the bottom end of the market.

some people are spenders, make sure to offer people expensive items, dont just show them cheap stuff, unless they as for it, or react badly to being shown expensive/mid range stuff, you got to read their reactions. mostly i offer mid range first.

lets see ....

never end a conversation with price. if someone asks "how much is this"? dont say "$30". you change the subject away from the price, "its $30, and it comes in various colors" or "its $30, but its great quality, i like this one myself". the price is sometimes seen as a negative, never end on a negative.

you got to make your customers happy. make them feel good. chat to them, make them feel welcome and give them your time, just chat about stuff. the goal is to make them feel feel happy, and have them associate being in your store with feeling happy.

this is totally true, and apply it in your store. always try to make customers feel happy. even if one comes to complain, or return something. do your best to have them happy when they leave, so even if you lost out on a sale sometimes, they will be back to get something another time.

people love the idea of getting a deal. so, you can have a thing where you do like half price juice with any mod, or buy 3 bottles and its a little cheaper etc. give price breaks to shift more merchandise. for some reason people will often buy more than they intended to when offered a deal, so if they came in to buy one bottle of juice, try and sell them 3 lol

offer people extras they didnt ask for. dont be pushy about it, you can do it casually, and honestly, eg "we just got in these new things, do you wanna see"?

sorry for the wall of text, good luck with your shop
