Honestly the fact she updated her ethnicity to Native American before ever having any conclusive test done bothers me. I am roughly 25% Apache and have always listed myself as white, as that is what I am. I did not grow up on the reservation, my family did, but I did not, and I was never part of that family. Why should I try to portray myself as a minority and take away from their culture just to get some benefits?

Everytime I mention it everyone says I should register so I can receive benefits or tuition when I was in college, but who am I to take away from them simply because my mother was fucked by a Native American? I have no relation to that side other than the blood that runs through me.
