AITA for asking my date for their ID to confirm their age?

Not directly at you, just adding my two thoughts to the conversation-

It's rare but it def happens. I personally know two girls who have lied, and I always try and believe the victim at first. I know people who were raped and not believed (and I've been sexually assaulted and not believed myself) so I'm very careful. I 100% on supporting and believing the victim first.

I knew very specific details about both cases with the girls who lied. I also know one of the girls was known to be a liar and very abusive (I personally saw the physical and verbal abuse many times.)

I think it's a case by case basis. It is rare but I've had someone claim I'm a "victim blamer" who "doesn't believe victims" when that person knew 0 details about the two cases. She then told me about how her friend wasn't believed at her university and how the guy got away with it, and I get that is absolutely awful but again, had 0 to do with the two cases I know very well.
