No this is not. This a comparisons of aesthetic choices and subjective interpretation of the source material. On a raw technical level every single aspect of the remake is better than the original. The poly count is massively increased, the texture resolution is higher, and the animations/physics are more sophisticated. However despite being technologically superior in every way people are split on if they love or hate it. That's cause the technology is not the be all end all of an art's quality. It's just a tool used by artist. What this really comes down to is Bluepoint's interpretation of the original game not lining up with the ideas that some fans had. No advancement in hardware can fix that cause technology can't change subjective choices.
