Arm is pretty quick

They shouldn't. But I'm obaerved some hysteria esp in this subreddit. with a select few it's either "apple is lying/cheating and its actually garbage" and other declaring "X86 is officially dead." Or "apple silicon is threatening the PC"

So it just puzzles me the degree emotions(?) People have on this announcement and I kinda want to just remind people to keep things level headed.

I for one am excited for this because it can prove to be very interesting esp now that we can for the first time have a more like-for-like comparison between different ISA beyond geekbench itself which while interesting is quite limited in terms of informing people about real world CPU performance. And if the full suite of benchmarks do actually show the kinds of performance that is being claimed, hey as a consumer having the option to buy a faster system is better for us.

I think as enthusiasts we shouldn't buy all in into the marketing hype( it is apple after all) but we shouldn't outright dismiss it without having done any legwork. And now that we have the opportunity to actually put sine of those claims to test, I say great! People should just stay calm and wait for people to run all the benchmarks so that we collectively can have a more informed view.
