You all have a real cool and underrated city..

Yea the bike lanes are surprisingly well thought out. It might not seem that way if you're new to biking and just taking the same routes you would in a car, though which I think is where some of the hate comes from. They're working on some of the final major pain points (like the rufer to castlewood on baxter mixed use path so you can cross from Schnitzelburg to the Highlands without riding on any streets that are more than 25 mph; they do need to extend bike lanes down main and market into downtown though as well as extending the third street one through downtown and adding a north seperated path lane on brook through downtown). Sure they aren't beautiful mixed use paths like the Netherlands or that nice one in Indianapolis, but really what we have on Kentucky and Breckenridge for example accomplish all the same goals and are very comfortable for anyone.
