I posted this on another sub but thought I’d vent it out here if that’s ok. Because I’m also feeling a lot and have to get it out.
When the U.S. started having an opioid issue the government took steps to curb it. Doctors prescribed less or cut people off, the CASPER system was created, pharmacies began taking more steps with how they filled and sold controlled drugs, anything with pseudoephedrine was put behind the pharmacy counter and when you buy it, your license is scanned and literally goes through a national database, limiting how much a person can buy. Will people still get access to those drugs, yes, but there are steps put in place to limit the access. Drug addiction treatment centers started. There are not “drug shows” where anyone can go in and choose from hundreds of drugs. There are not shops everywhere where you can buy whatever and however many you want. We still have an opioid problem, yes, but there were some steps taken.
