Imagine the public transportation upgrades and bike lanes we could have with the $40 million we’ve spent settling civil suits against LMPD.

Bike lanes won’t mean anything here unless they’re physically protected. I’ve only lived here a couple months and I barely drive and every single time I leave my house I see someone doing Wild West shit on the roads. There are tire tracks from people doing donuts on the highway. On Eastern parkway every time I drive I watch people literally drive across the raised median and cut into traffic. I’ve seen people go the wrong way down one way streets, tons of cars in a row just bc it’s more convenient. I’ve watched someone go around me in a busy intersection to make a LEFT on red into oncoming traffic. People blow through red lights here daily. The loop is a good idea if it’s bikes and pedestrians only and bike lanes on roads are a good idea if they have a concrete or metal barrier. But people drive here crazier than I’ve ever seen. Half of them don’t even have license plates
