here was my version:
I am part of the resistance inside Dracula's castle
To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the living. We want Dracula to succeed and support many other lesser monsters, like the wolfman
Don’t get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the exsanguinations/slave harem fails to capture
The bigger concern is not what the current Dracula has done to the townsfolk--turned them into zombie butlers, stolen their daughters--but rather what we, as a townsfolk, have allowed him to do to us.
I remember when each villager could look out their window and know that up there on the hill, behind the sickly purple clouds and hundreds of shrieking bats, inside that ominous tower was a Dracula you might not agree with, but you damn well could respect
