Had a frustrating argument about this with a "centrist" acquaintance of mine the other day. I tried explaining that if you have $10 million that means you could live off of $150k+ a year for the rest of your life and that's assuming you never work another day or invest any of that $10 million. You'd be fucking set living a really comfortable life forever. So I tried saying that's why AOC's idea of a 70% marginal tax on income over $10 million shouldn't be seen as extreme and if anything it should be seen as a moderate starting point.
