The American Flag is black genocide, you know?

No one said they had to stay. They were more than welcome to return to Africa. So they made a conscious decision to stay and therefore accepted the consequences of their actions.

I really can't stand this dumbass argument. Really? They could just leave? Do you really think leaving the country to escape discrimination was just a matter of 'making a conscious decision' in the year 1867? You mean that uprooting your entire family, leaving behind any job/house/friends/stability you might be fortunate enough to have, taking the potentially multiple week long journey across the country where you and anyone in your family stands a solid chance of dying in the wilderness, making it to the coast, purtchasing multiple ship fares, and again taking a dangerous, multiple week journey across the sea to Africa where you might not know of any family, might not speak the language well, might not have any skills to get a job in a completely new environment, and somehow manage to start another life in a completely different country? Yeah, I guess if the choice was that or face discrimination in the US, I would probably bite the bullet and stay in America too. That doesn’t make the discrimination black people faced for a solid century after slavery at all okay, it doesn't mean they had to 'accept the consequences,' and it doesn't justify anything you said. Saying that uprooting your entire life and moving to another country is a perfectly fine and easy solution to discrimination is just one of the most dumbass things I’ve ever heard in my life.
