[Anonymous Poll] RMT (The maphack one was interesting)

Have you ever installed a copy of a game on multiple computers so you could have a LAN party without spending $200+ on software for a single event?

No, or only with free to play games. The only LAN parties I've attended were ones in which people brought their own machines. What games they had and how they got them were their responsibility.

Have you ever used a proxy manager to get around Netflix region restrictions?

Of course not. That wouldn't be right.

Have you ever played a DVD for an audience of more than 10 people?

No. But I'll grant that that wasn't because I was aware of some maximum limit. I just can't fit that many people in my living room.

Have you ever turned on a streaming program and played non-public domain music?

No. I used Pandora with commercials for a while and then I paid for a year's worth of subscription and used that. Other than that I just play music that I burned to my PC from CDs I have bought.

Rules get bent or broken all of the time.

That doesn't give me a reason to bend or break them. Actually, I can't see what that has to do with anything. There's a lot of dishonest people out there? So what? What does that have to do with what you decide to do?

For your streaming, of course that isn't RMT. You are 'famous' and fame has perks. That has always been true. There is nothing in the TOS about declining gifts.

If I purposefully engage in a bad trade (WTS Shavs for 100 fusings!) is that RMT?

Only if you are also getting cash on the side. You know that. Why are you asking me?

You are trying to create this great big gray area to comfort yourself where you break rules. I'm sorry I can't help. I just don't care enough about this stuff to break rules to get it. If I can't see a video then I don't watch it. If it is only available through illegal torrents then I wait until that is not the case any more. I just don't give enough of a shit about seeing it today vs. seeing it tomorrow or never.

Taking such rules so seriously suggest some very warped values on your part.

Really. You said that. Following the rules makes me warped? Okay. And you are comfortable with that? You are comfortable living in a society where breaking the law is the norm and not breaking the law makes one a foolish minority? Wow. To me, that is warped. That is warped so bad that if I believed that I'd be looking for a new society to live in.
