Antisemitic rhetoric continues to be used by some opponents of COVID-19 measures

Not really anti-Semitic CBC. Anti-Semetic would be if they were blaming the Jews for the pandemic. They are drawing attention to the tactics they think are being used against them. That's the political statement. They feel they are in the first stages of a crackdown on thought, 'similar' in nature to Hitler's use of gradually increasing restrictions on the Jewish population via anti semetic legislation from 1933-39.

In April 1933, German law restricted the number of Jewish students at German schools and universities. In the same month, further legislation sharply curtailed “Jewish activity” in the medical and legal professions. Subsequent decrees restricted reimbursement of Jewish doctors from public (state) health insurance funds. The city of Berlin forbade Jewish lawyers and notaries to work on legal matters, the mayor of Munich forbade Jewish doctors from treating non-Jewish patients, and the Bavarian interior ministry denied admission of Jewish students to medical school.

Germany didn't just all of a sudden get a hate boner for Jews and decide one morning that they'd just start killing them. Hitler realized that he needed to do that gradually, by inches.

These wackadoodles are trying to draw that comparison, and by that, legitimacy.

The problem is that these folks don't realize that we just don't want them to die in as large a number as they will due to COVID. That's all. We've had vaccines for a while, but now we can make them really really quickly! We don't need to let viruses run rampant in our communities and reap a harvest, we can take precautions, and even develop a countermeasure to protect people ahead of time. It's a wonderful time to be alive.

Too bad they don't want to join the club.
