Any of you guys still inherently frugal because grew up i poverty, having a hard time spending their money?

As someone who also grew up in a poor family (relative to American standards), I am still getting through my education so although I'm not currently in your situation I hope to be within the next 2 years.

With that said, I assume I will carry my frugality and minimalism with me when I am making more money. I don't view this as a bad thing at all.

But I'd try to make room for things you've always wanted, that would improve your quality of life. For me, this would be a nice home speaker system for music, music lessons, a fancy shower/bath setup, nice bedding, good cookware, and getting my wardrobe more fleshed out/tailored.

Little things can really improve your quality of life and don't have to betray the way of living you're accustomed to. I'd always be scared to purchase things that could eat me if I lost my job. For example, taking a loan on a sports car or buying a giant house. These things imo don't really improve quality of life much at all but can destroy you financially even if you make good money.

Just my outsider perspective.
