Any transwomen here in an all women's school? (Specifically, Mount Holyoke, but any experience is welcome for input)

I'm simply responding because I haven't seen anyone else, but I see the upvotes. ;p I think what that might mean is the same thing I'm trying to say. CONGRATUFREAKINGLATIONS!

I don't think there's really many transwomen here that have gone to an all girls school. We see posts about regular highschool or going into a girls dorm at college. But I don't think I've seen one about an all girls school.

You're breaking new ground here. Seriously.

Now I know some people are going to go, "What? She's a girl...Why can't she go there? Why are you asking a stupid question?" Well, my question here comes from years of seeing the rules of different institutions chipped away again and again. Institutions catering to a specific gender or race have been some of the last to change their policies. So, Does this college have a trans inclusive policy if you were to be outed in anyway? It's not just a question of passing, but if you were outed in anyway and the school were to do something because of the technicalities involved and try to get rid of you, it dosen't sound like fun. ORRRR the complete opposite happens and they accept you and then make it open they accept transwomen. Your stepping into a new territory that not many of us know. KEEP US UPDATED!

As far as differences go, I had a friend who was in all female dorms for a bit before moving to a sorority. Most of the all female colleges in the states went coed or closed down. But I hung out with her in the female dorms a lot. It's COMPLETELY different than the coed dorms.

In the all girl dorms everyone was accepted by someone, but it was just like highschool. Everyone had their cliques. In coed dorms, they just sort of merged together. Everyones just trying to be an individual.

Guys are still seen as objects to get in the girl dorms. It was like a giant gossip fest. In coed dorms its far different. People are talking to everyone of every gender. It's easier to just have a conversation with someone of the opposite sex, without feeling pressure to impress.

The girls walked around in the smallest things pretty freely in the girl dorms. The coed dorms, they would, but not much. The girl was considered "easy" if she walked around in skimpy stuff all the time in the coed dorms.

The girls were a LOT more relaxed to be themselves when it was just them though. I was there, but I was sorta accepted... Like gay, but didn't know it... lol. I was just shy and girl like, so I fit in I guess. In the coed dorms the girls were always trying to impress. The emphasis on appearance is HEAVY in coed dorms. In the all girl dorms they just didnt give a crap. Girls would be walking around in nothing but sweats with crap on their faces eating from a box of something. It was so awesome to see cisgirls when they aren't trying to impress. ;p

The all girl dorms just seemed like their own little world though. It's not a bad thing, just socially closed off a bit more.

HAVE A GOOD TIME WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE! :)
