Anyone else here in the "we shouldn't have drafted Tyus Jones" camp?

There's certain things about a player that won't change, regardless of who he is playing against. Physical things, like size relative to position, quickness, physicality and ability to impose will via strength. These are things that Beljica has demonstrated he has for years in the 3rd best league in the world against full grown men and ex-NBAers, the body of work is just much greater and against much better competition. Tyus struggled to do what he wanted at times against bigger, stronger point guards last year, his physical attributes were considered a negative in his scouting report, and thus far in summer league it's been apparent that he is indeed undersized and a bit behind the physical curve.

If he's going to succeed in the NBA, he needs to find a way to overcome those limitations. It comes down to whether or not you believe that he will. Neither side can say for sure, and that's my point with all these people being downvoted for thinking he might not pan out.

Agreed on the second point, which is why I think it is a non-point in these discussions for justifying the trade. We have no idea if the picks were to be sold or used for Euro stashes, or who those Euro stashes would have been. Which is why I think it's a non-point in these discussions, really.

I've read all your posts in this thread, I guess I sort of gleaned your overall stance on the issue from the sum of those combined and the way you're defending the pick quite a bit.

To be clear: I don't think you're wrong for thinking the way you do about him. It's good to be optimistic. My beef with this conversation, and it's been going on for months now, is that you cannot say one word negative about Tyus or his abilities without people freaking out and telling you how wrong you are. As presumptive as it may be to predict his failure, it is equally presumptive to predict or assume his success. It's just a dumb imo, both sides of the coin should be allowed to say their piece.
