Same here. If there was a list of features that a socially successful person would have, I'd would have everything checked except a job(I'm studying in a university atm) and complete lack of social skills.

Especially the latter has really crippled my chances at expanding my social circle and dating.

TBH though, not everything is bad about this situation (yes I know it sounds a bit like Stockholm syndrome but hear me out on this one): Due to my loneliness and lack of social skills I had some free time that I could fill up with a hobby, simply because apart from my university obligations (projects,lectures etc.) I didn't have much else to do.So after a bit of hobby-searching, I found out that I liked really liked hitting the gym (at this point I have an almost religious obsession :P ) and it has somewhat helped me shrug off the sentiment of mentally feeling like an alien in social situations because of the aforementioned lack of social skills (I suppose having a tight schedule,doesn't leave much room about worrying about your insecurities).

TBH I still have not improved in the social/dating department, but it's a relief to think that this "demon" in the back of my head isn't mocking me about something that I have to try really hard to change or can't change it at all.
