I remember this happening to me in high school too. There was a group of girls I sat next to in a class, a couple of them I was actually close friends with after several years of being in the same class. They were all talking about guys they could ask out and one of them was like "how about ____" and they all just laughed. Also a couple of them joked about how bad of a boyfriend I would be and listed off reasons why dating me wouldn't be an enjoyable experience. The very thought of me being desirable was hilarious to them. And one of them was a girl I'd had a crush on for like two years lol. Never told her how I felt after that whole event though, why even bother
