Anyone here think Pizzagate has more circumstantial evidence than the Trump/Russia story?

I kinda disagree on this one. Not completely, but kinda. At least when it comes to non-joke posts.

There are lots of brocialists there, but there is also a pretty large contingent of intersectional Marxists who tend to call them out on it. And nobody gets hot and bothered when it happens; they just tend to explain their reasons and leave it at that.

A recent episode featured a writer who wrote a (fairly good) article responding to Ta Nehisi Coates' book and the broader afropessimism literature it draws from. In the episode, the CTH guys and gal were really bagging on Coates' use of the term "black body" in a way that really didn't seem like a fair consideration of the term or its application. Like, really piling on in a lazy, ill-considered way by saying it was all "Foucauldian bullshit" (which, by the way, it really isn't) and stuff like that.

The comment section on the link to that episode, including the top comment chain, were not having that and included a bunch of really good considerations of how phenomenological ideas can be incorporated into Marxist critique to the benefit of both.

Do people there have a tendency for economic reductionism? There are certainly lots who do, and the hosts of CTH definitely do. As an intersectional Marxist, it makes listening to their podcast a little frustrating at times.

But I would still put that sub head and shoulders above the ones listed in the previous comment when it comes to at least paying attention to intersectionality in non-superficial ways. They also have some spicy memes from time to time.

It's no S4P.
