They are still dreaming

People still have this left over elitism from the british empire. It's seriously built into the culture here, look out our government, brexit, how we as a people treat anyone that doesnt speak perfectly fluent English.

I will also go further to say that growing up in Britain you learn pretty quickly not to let yourself stand out too much as our culture doesnt encourage differences too much, anyone that wants to express themselves in any way gets the living piss ripped out of them if they fail at anything so everyone is extremely emotionally repressed and miserable. Until we get drunk that is.

In regards to the insufferable talking heads, people jerk themselves over watching people get talked down to and being "put in their place". When someone is living in anyway against the populist group think its important that they are "taken down a few pegs" so you get these wankers like Piers Morgan, Jeremy Kyle, who just spout their opinions off without doing any research and people applaud them for "Saying it how it is".

Its the same with football punditry, you get the likes of Danny Mills, Marc Lawrenson and Rio Ferdinand who although they played professionally, somehow have not been gifted any actual footballing knowledge so just shit out the first thought they have in their head and march about like a pigeon on a chestboard feeling smart. Rio Ferdinand once said the Swiss National Team had no stand out players and shouldnt pose a problem for anyone. The entire Swiss National team play top flight professional football across Europes biggest leagues.

At least with football the culture is slowly changing they are bringing in more pundits that actually have a clue what they are talking about and have personalities beyond "miserable prick". If you ever get to see Emma Hayes do punditry she's absolutely brilliant, and Micah Richards just oozes charisma. They aren't all bad luckily.
