Are terrible statistics normal?

Oh, so I had a look at your channel - on my phone so couldn't really listen in - sub's tho! Will check out some videos later.

A question: what videos made people sub? Did you post more of that game? From the look of your playlists you usually do one video for a game - people might be really interested in that game, have subbed, seen three more videos NOT of that game, and quit out. There really aren't that many YTers who carry a channel regardless of the game they are playing.

On our channel we pretty much rock on Kerbal Space Program and pick up some other audiences along the way. However, if I stopped playing KSP I am convinced our subs would fall through the floor.

We also have extremely short videos and they are really popular. I put myself in my viewers shoes: they have a feed with a half/dozen new videos in it to watch and they see ours, it's only 2-3 minutes long - and they figure "a quick watch will be fine" - and they dip their toes in, even into games they might not otherwise be into.

Now, you audience might see videos of up to 50 minutes long. That is a BIG commitment. For me, that's about 1/4 of my free time in the evening (got kids and a wife), there are VERY FEW people who could keep me for that length of time.

But break that up into lots of short videos, spread it out... Well, I might end up watching them all, liking your style, and moving into new content.

I see that perhaps you have realized this as some of your newer videos are shorter

My mate and I also realize it. No more 25 min LPs for us (around 25% retention). We are keeping to our short format (65% retention). We are doing this because we care more about having a popular channel than having a simple and pure LP channel. It is a lot more work making 2 good minutes than one expects!

Anyway. I am looking forward to watching your shorter videos when I get a chance!
