Are young guys actually into me?

As far as attraction, as a man in his mid-30's, I can attest that plenty of young, impossibly hot guys like men our age. I did okay when I was younger, but it never ceases to baffle me how the seemingly older, balder, and uglier I get, the more attention I get from the kind of guys I lusted for in my 20's. I have a nice build and an admittedly killer beard, but it's not like I've got ripped abs or anything.

I'm also a decent "control" for your thought experiment because I made good money in my 20's - at the risk of sounding exceptionally douchey, I had a Carrera when I was 24 and plenty of disposable income to throw around. I've always had my financial shit together, so for me, the money itself doesn't seem to be a factor.

What I'm getting at is plenty of younger guys romanticize older guys, both physically and in terms of relationships. And while there are plenty of safe generalizations to be made about younger guys, you'll also be impressed with their diversity. There's plenty of them who have lived genuinely interesting lives despite their years, and many of those guys find their cohorts just as vapid as you, which is why they tend to date older guys. Just don't make assumptions before you get to know them. Also, there are plenty of guys in our peer group who are just as empty-headed as when they were 18.

My counsel is to date as many people as you can for a couple years. When you first come out, your instinct is likely to date toward the goal of a relationship. Don't do this. Just get to know the diversity of personalities out there because there's all kinds of gays you'd have never thought existed. Fuck as many of the hot 20-somethings as you can, but be honest with them. And if you fall in love, AWESOME, but don't expext it. Just live and have a good time and meet as many people as you can. Find you place.

And for fuck's sake, don't let some hot little trick move in with you. That's insane. If you have enough disposable income for a pool boy, get one, but don't let some leech move into your home, no matter how hot he seems.
