Armed motorcyle thiefs gets instant justice by bystander cop (Brazil)

The offender was shot because he pointed a gun (in his left hand, 0.57s, after he transferred it in preparation to ride off)

lmao? He puts the gun away into his waistband at 0:50 in the video. He is entirely unarmed when the cop exits the vehicle and shoots him. You can then see the cop pull the gun out of his waistband again at 1:07.

I'm fairly certain he's holding his hand at the cop, probably in a "Stop, please don't shoot me" kinda way, he is definitely not holding the gun. He was holding the gun in his right the entire time before, he put it into his waistband with the right. It makes no sense that he'd draw and aim with the left, when his right is clearly the dominant/shooting hand. Especially when it is certainly way more awkward, if not even impossible, to draw with the left when he holstered it for the right.

That aside, you are seriously arguing for the rights of someone who is obviously willing to use lethal force to steal with. The biker being stolen from suffered a real risk of being killed.

... No, they weren't, they're thiefs. There was no such risk. Thiefs want to steal things, not kill people. They have absolutely nothing to gain from shooting someone. It's not worth the trouble. They'd go off, and find an easier victim. That's how thieves, burglars etc operate. It's either immediately kill, or threaten. Threaten and then kill if threat isn't met makes no sense whatsoever.

And before someone says "They're criminals, it's not like they operate on logic!! Otherwise they wouldn't do any crimes!!" ... No.

you have to expect that someone else might seriously threaten your life in the course of stopping you.

Which would've been perfectly fine and acceptable. But he wasn't threatened with lethal force. There was no way for him to meet the demands of whoever had him at gun point, unlike the Biker. He was just immediately murdered.

You may consider that an 'extremist' view, but the fact is, YOU are the person in the minority on this one - which should be an indication that your viewpoint is at least possibly incorrect.

... No, I'm defninitely not in the minority. Anyone from a normal country will think this is beyond fucked up.

The cop did the best he could under his environment and job description. Him NOT shooting in some misguided attempt to create social change would probably have seen HIM shot as well.

... Except, you know... He could've atleast waited until he either attempts to flee, or goes for his gun.
