Well, first of all, did you actually read the article? The article states that many eyewitnesses say that he pointed his rifle at the driver.

Second, there's a nice picture of our pal Garrett actually pointing his rifle at the car. It's here:

Note the butt of the rifle is up against his cheek and his right elbow is point at a 90 degree angle in a shooting stance. I'm sure you recognize this as a shooting stance, because you clearly know a lot about guns.
