Jury nullification

Jury nullification is extremely hard to do.

The first hurdle is making it past jury selection. As long as you don’t act like a jackass that shouldn’t be too hard but nowadays with Facebook and social media they can filter you out just based on that. Especially if they see you posted about jury nullification like a lot of users on this thread are saying.

The next hurdle is numbers. You need to be on a jury with enough members who also agree to nullify. Which means they all had to make it past hurdle one or you have to convince them to nullify in the room.

The last and most difficult hurdle is getting removed from the trial because you’re trying to nullify the jury. It just takes one member to tell on you and you’re no longer on the jury and can be charged with ‘contempt of court’ and put in jail.

But honestly the biggest hurdle you’re going to have is that most of these cases won’t go to trial. There is going to be a plea offer and most people aren’t going to assume that the jury is going to be nullified and will take the plea. You can fight it in court anyway but that’s probably just going to get you a longer sentence.
