In Australia, giant snakes hang out in trees and wait for possums, occasionally they get one

I was just making the point that, you can't make the assumption that nobody is/has beenkilled by a constrictor, esp as so many deaths "by snake" go unrecorded, how many 'close calls' never even get a mention? -- I was using those stats to make that point ... (which they also make)

Like I said, I could tell you True stories about aggressive constrictors (probably mistakenly but ...) 'attacking people' with various degrees of success. Fortunately for these people, there were others around to help, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if there have been small children eaten by constrictors in places like South America and India

Shit, google "child killed by python" and this is the first hit!

  • Brothers Connor and Noah Barthe were killed by a python in 2013.

Canadian police have charged the owner of a python over the deaths of two young boys who were asphyxiated by the snake while they slept in 2013. Police initially said the reptile had slithered into the second-floor apartment from an exotic pet store, owned by Savoie, on the ground floor.

But investigators later determined that the African rock python had been housed in the apartment itself.

A mother is facing up to 35 years in jail for third-degree murder after the pet python she treated 'like a puppy' squeezed her two-year-old daughter to death. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2013929/Parents-face-35-years-jail-starving-pet-python-kills-year-old-daughter.html

Or

On the night of June 31, 2009, two weeks after the agency closed its investigation, the mother took an unprescribed Vicodin pill and went to bed. While Hare, then 19, was sleeping, the pale yellow snake slithered from the tank and found Shaiunna in her white wooden crib in the nursery.

Gypsy bit Shaiunna’s face, head, abdomen, hands and arms and wrapped around the girl’s upper body, squeezing the life out of her. She was found by Darnell, then 32, around 10 the next morning. The snake was still in the crib with Shaiunna, wrapped around her head.

even small (~1mt) constrictors are strong enough to strangle you if they're around your neck and decide they want to 'hang on tight', I'm not saying it's common but it wouldn't surprise me if it's happened by accident.

Anway, keep on downvoting me just coz you disagree ... lol I guess the newspapers just made that shit up.
