Is Ayton a Max player?

I think you are overrating him. Gobert is much better than him at this point. The suns with Gobert might have won the championship. Anthony Davis is better than both of them. I don't think he is as good on defense as you think (his perimeter defenders are very good), and his inability to get to the line or punish smaller defenders is a big issue. He disappeared in game 7.

10 other teams would happily max him? Which 10?

Cavs - Jarrett Allen, likely Evan Mobley

Rockets - Christian Wood.

Magic - Jonathan Isaac, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter

Utah - Gobert and no space.

Warriors - Wiseman and no space.

Mavericks - maybe this could happen. Not unless they trade porzingis.

Philly - nah.

Denver - for sure not

Lakers - no

Kings - probably would just Resign Richaun Holmes. I guess maaaaybe?

Timberwolves - no space, although they theoretically might have interest

Wizards - no space, possibly interested

Pistons - Isaiah Stewart, rebuilding, no way

Hawks - Capela, Onyeka, Collins

Bucks - lol

Heat - Bam

Knicks - noel + Mitchell Robinson + randle, maybe if they struck out on everyone ? But seems very unlikely. They need offense - not defense .

Nets - negative cap space

Grizzlies - Jonas and JJJ

Pelicans - they need a spacing big for zion and are trying to get rid of Steven Adams.

Bulls - Vooch

Raptors - goes against team building philosophy and the space would get tricky. They need centers but everything about their team-building suggests they're not shopping for max players who can't shoot 3s.

Hornets - could happen.

Pacers - already too many $$$ centers.

Clippers - negative cap space

SAS - theoretically possible although this is their big space summer.

OKC - never in a million years, not their style

Boston - no space
