BBC: Our World - What's Killing America's White Men? (2018) | Every year, nearly 45,000 people in America kill themselves. That is more than twice the number that die in homicides, and the numbers are increasing. One group in particular causing this spike - white, middle aged men. [23:10]

As a white male who has struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts, I would like to argue that point, as I agree more with the quote u/burnbabyburn11 posted. Not to brag, but I have an amazing support network; long-term girlfriend, parents who support me no matter what, large groups of both male and female friends who I feel comfortable talking to.. It's not just a lack of support, its the feeling that even though I have all these things (wealth, health, family & friends) I am still depressed and should feel guilty that I have what so many people struggle for, almost a permanent cycle of indifference to things that are "supposed" to make me happy.
