The Orphans of COVID: America's Hidden Toll (2022) - David Muir reports on the more than 250,000 children who have lost parents or caregivers to COVID-19 -- their challenges, their triumphs, and the way they keep the memories alive. [00:27:33]

I was 32 when my mom died from COVID at the age of 59. She could've gotten the vaccine and chose not to. It'll be a year on July 29th, and I am still not okay.

I'm angry that she chose not to listen to not one but two nurse daughters who told her she likely would die when she caught it, and I'm angry at the universe for taking her when so many others did the same thing and didn't have to pay this price. I'm angry that my sister and I have watched our careers as nurses be dragged down and gutted by this pandemic only to have our only parent taken by it as well.

I can't even imagine being a child and dealing with all of it. I think he's going to have fucked up a lot of people for life.
