The generation ‘chasm’: Young Canadians feel unlucky, unattached to the country - National | Globalnews.ca

My wife and I (both born Canadian) lived in the US for a number of years before we decided to make the move over to Europe (best decision ever. Great pay, healthcare and weather at least where we are, but that's beside the point)

This is just what I experienced:

- When I lived in the States my wife and I each were getting paid 2X what we were in Canada. Almost no tax. It was so easy for us to find jobs in our field. People downplay how many opportunities there are in America.

- The healthcare system is just better (we had great healthcare coverage so we didn't have to pay much out of pocket)

- housing was way better. We had a farmhouse that was bigger and less expensive than the house we had in Canada. (didn't need the space though)
