Boris Johnson urges people to ‘go to the cinema’

Basically, it’s cinemas (especially large chains) putting profits ahead of lives.

Granted, this situation is difficult and virtually unprecedented, but a frank, objective look at the situation would have told them what needed to happen. The only responsible thing to do was shut down completely (but hopefully temporarily). Would that suck? Yup. Would it be expensive? Very.

However, over two hundred and four thousand people have died due to Covid. Over two hundred and four thousand. I don’t care what kind of safety rules they have - even if they were enforced by serious professionals instead of teenagers being paid minimum wage. The ethical thing to do would be to close. There’s a global pandemic going on. It’s insulting and disrespectful to me that they’re willing to expose me, my friends, and my family.
